This notification is to inform you of the latest information released by the county regarding your child’s grade. As noted from the district communication, students have a choice to accept their grades as of March 13, 2020 as final grades for the 2019-2020 school year OR Continue to earn grades for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year to improve their grade(s). We want to clarify that if a student chooses not to participate, perform or actively engage with his/her teacher(s) and they do not take advantage of assignment opportunities, this will result in their final grade being the grade that they had on March 13th. The only way for the March 13th grade to improve is for the student to submit assignments and participate in the digital learning opportunities made available to him/her by the teacher.

Coronavirus Digital Learning Instructional Plan
Coach Gambrell Coronavirus Digital Learning Instructional Plan
SAVE ALL YOUR WORK. I WILL BE COLLECTING IT WHEN WE RETURN TO SCHOOL!! Instructional Plan During this time, I will be using my personal website (www.gambrellchemistry.com) to disseminate information and assignments. On my website, there are 2 main types of pages that are important:
Unit Pages – these pages will contain videos from YouTube and potentially videos of myself teaching that we will use during this time in order to teach as much material as possible.
Blog Page – on the blog page, I will be posting the content topics we will cover each day, along with any assignments that are due. The plan right now is to have roughly 30 minutes of work each day.
Each day, I will post 1-2 videos for students to watch along with a few practice problems to complete. If students are struggling understanding the material for the day, they should plan to join my Online Office Hours later that afternoon (see below for more specific info). Students should also reach out to me via email if they need help.
SAVE ALL YOUR WORK. I WILL BE COLLECTING IT WHEN WE RETURN TO SCHOOL!!
Contacting Me The best way to contact me is through my email address (email@example.com). I will do my best to respond to emails as quickly as possible. During the normal school hours, responses should be sooner than after school hours.
Online Office Hours Right now, I plan to be live online via a video conferencing platform for students to call in and ask questions. This will allow students to watch the videos and attempt to complete the assignments in the morning and then ask questions in the afternoon if they have them. I will post the link to the video call on the main page of my website. (www.gambrellchemistry.com)
AP Chemistry: 1:00-1:45pm
Honors Chemistry: 2:00-2:45pm
Remind101 I have set up a Remind101 account for each of my classes. Students were told to sign up for it on Thursday 3/12/20. Instructions to sign up are below. This is where I will send out all new announcements when I have posted new info or any other important info.
AP Chemistry: Text @jgapchem to 81010
Honors Chemistry: Text @jghchem20 to 81010
Important Notes Right now, we are not sure when school will be back in session. Students should do their best to keep up with online assignments and learning the content. I will make sure we do not move so fast and that we move in a way that all students are able to keep pace.
For AP Chemistry students, we will proceed as best we can in learning content and preparing for the AP Exam. Right now the AP exam has not been postponed or canceled.
